April 2025
On April 12th, at our monthly food bag distribution, we provided our clients with a plethora of good food and specialty items for the Easter holiday. Our volunteers distributed 101 food bags along with 135 four-pound frozen hams and fresh Medjool dates donated by John Arnold. We were also able to supply our partners, the Patagonia Senior Citizens Center and the Patagonia Youth Enrichment Center with hams and dates.
Our Monday veggie distributions outside the Senior Center in Patagonia, every Monday 10:30 to 11:30, have revved up again, after a lull in supply. The past few weeks availability has again been very good, with a great variety of high-quality vegetables available.
We received a large donation of food from the Arizona Monster foot race that was held in April with its termination in Patagonia. During the last few weeks, we have distributed 110 two liters bottles of ginger ale as well as bread, rolls and tortillas from their substantial donation. We will be distributing more of their food in the near future.
As we move into the heat of summer be certain that our volunteers will continue to provide Monday veggies as long as the supply holds out. We have seen an increase in emergency food bag requests and we want to remind the community that emergency food is available anytime by calling us (520) 302-4450.
Thank you so much for your support of the food bank especially as we move into the quiet season of summer. Your unwavering support is the backbone of our efforts to support and enhance our community.
