Dear Friends of the Food Bank,

On August 9^th, at our regular monthly food distribution, we provided our clients with 80 food bags, which included milk, frozen hamburger meat and tortillas, as well as fresh pears.   Demand for our services and food is steady this summer and we are planning for the inevitable uptick in as children head back to school and cooler weather arrives.  We are also looking ahead to the upcoming fall holiday season and we aim to continue to supply our clients with food for sumptuous holiday meals.

In August, we received a few more emergency food requests than in past months.

This fall we will be streamlining our procedures for dealing with emergency food requests in the face of increased demand.  This will increase our efficiency and relieve some of the burden on our volunteers.  No need to worry, emergency food will still be available anytime for our clients and the community.  We always wish to remind everyone that emergency food is available from the Food Bank anytime by calling us at (520) 302-4450.

We anticipate starting the 2025-2026 veggie distribution season with fresh produce from Mexico in early November 2025.
