September 2025

Dear Friends of the Food Bank,

On September 13th, at our regular monthly food distribution we provided our clients with 79 food bags, which included milk, frozen hamburger meat and tortillas as well as our usual canned and dried storage stable foods.

In early September South32 donated about 1600 pounds of frozen beef to the Food Bank, which will allow us to include this important protein source in our food distributions every month for the foreseeable future.

We also will provide our community partners, the Patagonia Senior Citizen’s Center and the Patagonia Youth Enrichment Center and community outreach groups with fresh beef.  We are very thankful for this substantial donation valued at nearly $8,000 which will greatly enhance the nutrition of our clients.

In September we received a few emergency food requests which our volunteers filled.  As always, emergency food will be available anytime for our clients and the community by calling us at (520) 302-4450.

This fall we will be streamlining our procedures for dealing with emergency food requests in the face of increased demand.  This will increase our efficiency and relieve some of the burden on our volunteers.

We anticipate starting the 2025-2026 veggie distribution season with fresh produce as soon as the supply comes in, perhaps even before early November 2025.  Look for our sign posted outside the senior center when we begin distributing.

Thank you so much for your support of the food bank and our wonderful community!

Jim
