June 2026 Recap

Dear Friends of the Food Bank,

The first half of 2026 has slipped away and with it along comes some good news. consumer prices are down a bit; foremost gasoline prices have eased a bit, and along with them some of the pressure on our client’s food budgets.

We continue to see high demand for food as well as new faces at most every monthly distribution. On June 13h, at our regular Saturday food distribution, we delivered 96 food bags, again enhanced with varieties of food donated by our community partners. We also experienced a continuing increase in new clients, with 12 new families getting food, an indication the level of need within our community continues at a high level. Our more robust food bag offerings have proven to be a hit with clients and we intend to continue offering a wider variety of perishable and non-perishable foods.

There continues to be a steady number of people visiting our Monday vegetable distributions outside the Patagonia Senior Center. The supply and quality of vegetables from Borderlands Produce Rescue is somewhat variable, however our volunteers persevere and we hope for a continuing supply. We want to remind everyone in the community to come and visit our weekly distribution and take home vegetables! We anticipate continuing our vegetable distributions throughout the summer as long as the supply holds up.
