Dear Friends of the Food Bank,

These past months of unstable consumer prices across the board, as well as higher food price inflation, have resulted in record numbers of clients seeking food from our food bank.

We are meeting this sustained high demand by welcoming new clients at every monthly distribution and providing food bags that are the largest we have ever offered. On August 8th, at our regular Saturday food distribution, we delivered 98 large food bags, enhanced with varieties of food sourced by volunteers or donated by community members and our partners. We again saw an increase in new clients, with 4 more new families receiving food.

There continues to be a steady number of people visiting our Monday vegetable distributions outside the Patagonia Senior Center. The supply and quality of vegetables from Borderlands Produce Rescue is diminished as the Mexican vegetable harvest season wanes, however our volunteers have been able to pick up enough veggies each Monday to make it feasible to continue distributions. Per usual, we will continue our vegetable distributions into the fall as long as the supply holds up.
